About Us

Welcome to the College of Wooster Equestrian Club and Team website!

The College of Wooster Equestrian Team was started in 2003 by Wooster student Julie Horst and Esther Horst, the director of the Longbrake Student Wellness Center. Over the years the Equestrian Team has been very successful and has riders qualify for regional, zone, and national competitions. However, the College of Wooster Equestrian Team has grown to be more than just a team: the club gives any Wooster student the opportunity to learn how to ride a horse for a minimal cost. All Wooster students, from those with absolutely no horse experience to those who have been riding their whole life, are welcome to join both the Equestrian Club and Team.

There are multiple ways to be involved.  Some students only join the club and do not ride; some students take lessons and are involved in the club but do not show; and some students join, take lessons and also show on one (or more) of our three intercollegiate competitive teams.  There are many ways to get involved at a low cost, so if you have any interest in horses or riding, don’t hesitate to ask!
